The Three Theories of narrative

Narrative theory: which is basically the story of a film or show

and the three theory's were created by these 3 important people: Tvzetan Todorov, Vladimir Propp and Claud Levi-strauss.

Todorav: the frictional environment begins with a star of equilibrium e.g everything is as it should be in a state of equal balance between powers of any kind. It then suppers some disruption or disequilibrium Then at the resolution a new equilibrium is produced.

Propp: based on ancient folk tales and has said "that all narratives feature a set of stock characters" which includes heroes, villain, doner, helper,Princesses or prize or goal, Father, dispatcher, Victim and false hero.

Levi-strauss:
Binary oppositions is a constant creation of conflict or opposition that propels a narrative and the narrative could only end on a resolution of the conflict.

for example Visual-Light vs Dark, movement vs stillness, conceptual-love vs hate, control vs panic or can be on a narrative or genre based Good vs Evil, Earth vs A liens, Cops and robbers.
